Who we are...

Abraham’s Oasis is an Ethiopian Resident Charity registered at the Charities and Societies Agency of the Ministry of Justice of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, monitored by the General Assembly and Board of Abraham’s Oasis, the governmental line departments and the Charities and Societies Agency.

Our Vision:

“Sustainable opportunities for the vulnerable and marginalized”

Our mission:

“To create a sustainable environment whereby social and cultural integration of the said marginalized and vulnerable will occur, empowering them through financial and food aid, farming, childcare, basic maternal health and gender awareness resulting in dignity and independence of the individual and the community.”

Our goal:

To reach and assist target groups in and around North-Western Zone to establish their dignity and independence.

• To safeguard the basic needs of the orphaned, abandoned, vulnerable, ostracized and / or troubled child through schooling and basic supplies.
• To ensure a future for the residential child care at Grace Village through income generation activities created from Grace Farm.
• To provide child protection to refugee children in the refugee camp.
• To support women headed householders towards independence in marketable gardening.
• To strengthen maternal health through awareness /education and distribution of simple delivery kits

The simple concept of the once ostracized and shamed individuals returning able to provide and hold up his/ her head in the community is what spurs us on. It is thus that healthy communities can negotiate as one with a sense of confidence, civic pride and respect for each other rather than ignominy.

From its inception Abraham's Oasis has moved on to help the community around us; helping the children, then assisting the women headed householders to establish themselves into cooperatives and reached out to childbearing age women to alert them to the dangers related to childbirth.
