Who we work withAbraham's Oasis is dependent on the generosity of people from around the world. In the current worldwide economic crisis we have been made aware of the faithfulness of our donors. Bridge to Light, Netherlands has unstintingly provided funding for Grace Village, that 52 children may attend school, have a home, food, clothes and hope for tomorrow. They also help many of the community children to sponsor them through school. Bridge to Light, Netherlands packed large shipping container in 2009 full of wonderful items that have enriched the lives of the children at Grace Village, the sponsored children and the children at the refugee camp! The computers are currently found in our offices and also various local offices around town and one is even in the local prison! Michel Onlus, Italy sponsors almost eighty children in the community through our agency, they care passionately about what we are doing and come and visit supporting us in our vision for these children. Mariet Project, Netherlands has chosen to sponsor young female children in order that they may attend school unhindered. She also visits and checks on ‘her girls’. Dr. E. C. Hamlin of the Fistula Hospital, Ethiopia sends funding for ten young ladies schooling. Individual donors from Australia and USA are also sending contributions on a regular basis for child sponsorship. An individual donor, Netherlands who believes in helping women headed households is covering the agricultural projects as well as basic farming development at Grace Village. World Health Organization, Ethiopia and the Tigray Health Bureau helped us provide services for the people living with the unknown liver disease during 2009. The Tigray Health Bureau has provided support and monitoring our health activities facilitating with transportation for the vulnerable with the unspecified liver disease. United Nations High Commission for Refugees, Shire Office has provided the means to carry out the work UNHCR has asked from us which is to provide child protection in a refugee camp. Women’s Hope International, Switzerland has helped us with a car (Toyota Hardtop Land Cruiser) for and the activities related to health / fistula awareness / education and health activities. Hope Ethiopia, USA has saved us enormous amounts of money by setting up the website for us, it is good to have them as partners as this facilitate contributions through the website. Rivers of Hope, USA is planning to help strengthen elementary schools in the area with small grant sums over the next three years. The people who have provided hands on help; the teams from Netherlands who come to work on accounts, build, repair, paint and fix plumbing, change kitchens, fix buildings and working on computers bring joy the children. Individual on site guests – Jasper, Matt, Alex, and others who came helping with teaching, repairs, tutoring, medical expertise, kindergarten support, playing with the children taking photographs, filming and encouraging us all! We have been blessed! The many who cannot come and do not have huge sums of money but who knit, who sew, who post to us items for the children from America, Australia, UK, Netherlands, Switzerland, France, Spain, West Indies and other countries. In all we thank God for His faithfulness in providing the wherewithal to care for these our vulnerable and marginalized. |
