The social worker makes sure that all the unaccompanied minors have a safe and official care arrangement
The social worker makes sure that the children are attending school and the ones who are not in school are doing some group activities.
The social worker makes sure that the gaps in awareness raising are being filled
Abraham’s Oasis will assist the Internally Displaced People when they are able to resettle in the future.
Community Empowerment
Post-Conflict community rehabilitation (holistic community service provision).
Selected communities will be visited to assess their needs.
A plan will be drafted together with the community administration and elders on activities to be undertaken to assist the community to get back on their feet.
Community participation will be highly encouraged.
Community counseling and community building sessions will be conducted.
Rehabilitation of structures and infra-structures will be conducted together with the community.
2. Women and Children in Crisis Support Provision Service
We visit schools, health centers and other places where there are meetings and we teach communities about gender based violence, speaking out against it and encouraging them to come forward if their rights have been violated. We offer counseling services where appropriate and assist women to go to the appropriate places to report and find medical/psychological assistance. We also operate a crisis-helpline where people can report anonymously.
3. Baby package service
Selected babies will be supported with baby formula for the first year of their life.
In addition to the formula the families will receive a bottle, nipples, body soap and laundry soap as well as a set of baby clothes with washable diapers.
Families will be trained in bottle feeding and regular follow-up is done to see that this is maintained.
Families will be provided with parenting skills training and where needed they can be referred to economic empowerment to ensure the future of the child.
4. Tracing, Reunification and Reintegration Services
This service assist in tracing activities for the residential care services projects. They trace and connect with families, asses if situations are safe for a child to go back to and if families are in need of economic empowerment or further counseling services.
Where the direct family is not possible, extended family will be assessed. If there is a conflict within the family we play also a role as mediators on behalf of the child.
